IMG_0413After years of living in the suburbs, and after having two kids, my wife and I made the bold decision to move to the City.  A year and a half after moving to the Riverdale section of the Bronx, a compromise urban/suburban community which gave us our first taste of urban living, we decided to go all the way and we now live on Manhattan’s Upper West Side.

I have been a daily bicycle commuter since shortly after moving to Riverdale.  Most days I ride down the Hudson River Greenway in New York City and take a train or ferry to my job in Jersey City.  This blog is about bike commuting, family cycling, living and cycling in the city, advocacy for safer streets and better bicycle infrastructure, and all the interesting things I encounter commuting on the greenway.  To learn more about why I started riding read my introductory post.

  1. I chanced upon your blog entries looking for information about NYC with kids. Thanks for posting your experiences and moving into the city. Life must be busy for you, there hasn’t been any new entries!

    • Thanks so much for letting me know my posts were helpful. It’s true I haven’t posted in a while, but I haven’t stopped enjoying NYC with my kids, or cycling with them. My social life really is a bit busier than it has been in a while. Now that we live in the city there is so much to do outside the home I rarely have time to sit at home and write blog posts.
